... we were at the temple, we realized that if we had taken the opposite direction, we would have been at the temple in less than a kilometer!!!!

We actually got to wear raincoats for the first time on the trip. It was raining pretty hard, but it only lasted for fifteen or twenty minutes. I was afraid we were going to just carry them around and not use them on this trip!!!!!

... for about 2.5 hours( an hour longer than I would have liked), not as long as Mark would have liked. The orchid house was full of beautiful orchids in bloom. Mark was in ecstasy. Had noodles cooked in the Birko again for dinner tonight, nice for a change. Big pieces of flatbread, there was a tiny old many walking around with buckets of daal and coco it paste that her would slop on your plate. Got up early this morning and walked the length and breadth of the city. At 8am this morning we walked 850ft up to see an 88ft Buddha, then spent all afternoon walking around the lake in the centre of Kandy, we then visited the temple of the tooth. After 6 hours of walking in 30 c heat we were pretty hot but we managed to find a swimming pool and cool off!
