... Leider hatte unser Hotelmanager, von dem Karin und Ernst als Guide so begeistert waren, keine Zeit mehr L Unser Guide war aber auch nicht schlecht. Vielleicht etwas we***** enthusiastisch und humorvoll. Er kannte sich aber gut aus und trug ebenfalls eine Uniform. Wer in Angkor als offizieller Guide arbeiten will, muss eine Ausbildung machen und bei jeder Führung eine Uniform tragen.

... not letting the thought of bad weather spoil our fun, we got up very early with the idea to get their for sunrise and before the crowds. With Seth our last tuk tuk driver telling us how business is quiet and how he would love to be our driver for Angkor, we gave him a call for the job, which he gratefully accepted. Secrets of Angkor
... on a raft structure. Once passed the stilt houses we got out to the main body of the lake - it was like being in the ocean as you couldn't even see land! We really enjoyed this part of Siem Reap, its sometimes so much more relaxing to get out in to the countryside and be amongst the local people rather than the tourist mass. There are so many times you think to yourself "bloody tourists" and then remember that you are one of them.

... the Sam Veasna Centre and if anyone is interested, the biographies of the staff and guides on their website make interesting reading. By the time we had done that it was time to head off to the sunset site in the Angkor Archeological Park area. First we had to stop and buy a ticket for the Park which would allow us access for tonight and tomorrow. This was a bit of a bun-fight!
