The pool was such a luxury!

The staff and facilities were lovely.
Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean.
They served up a nice breakfast in the morning.
But the best part after a long hot day of temple exploring was unarguably the pool to cool down in at the end of the day! Don't let its size deter you... trust me it was a slice of life!

      Breakfast not included

Average hotel, had real problems getting our breakfast which was supposed to be included in the price. When we did get it, it wasn't worth the fight.
Better value at other places, booked ahead though as places fill up.

Siem Reap: Gateway to the Temples of Angkor. The city itself serves as an access point for the temples, offering over priced accommodations, restaurant menus featuring authentic Cambodian dishes such as Croque Monsieur (?), and Tuk Tuk drivers educated in the fine art of annoyance. The mighty dollar rules here, as in most parts of South East Asia. …

As soon as the plane doors opened after our 2 hour flight I was hit by the heat, Its so hot and humid you can feel the sweat draining out of you. But what I saw when exiting the plane made me completely forget about it, A gigantic hut shaped roof was on top of the small Siem Reap airport. As I walked through the door I was hit with a gust of cold …

So when I came back, late on Thursday night I had a couple of worries. Firstly, that Mr Chan hadn't understood that I wanted to be picked up when I got back. I'd learnt by now not to phrase questions to Cambodian people that could be answered with the word 'yes'. Yes is always the answer someone gives when they do...
