From Edam we made a very quick trip over to Volendam to enjoy the sunny weather and the coastline. Volendam has a boardwalk (actually a brick walk) and sits right on the water. We found a cafe and sat down to have a nice lunch overlooking the water. ... do again anywhere, let alone Amsterdam!! I think I'll write a separate blog exploring this a bit more later. I managed to pull myself together and wipe away the tears so I could actually see what was going on, and enjoyed every second of an amazing set list and Pearl Jam at their best!

And so was Amsterdam. No fields of tulips, clogs (other than in the souvenir shops) or windmills, but plenty of other great experiences, interesting people, beautiful sights and lots to debate and talk ...

... and it was a great night and the walk home showed that there were more than a few windows on my street. For or my last day in Amsterdam I did a whole bunch of nothing. It was great to hang out and have a final wander about. (**added 2 months later - Actually that's not entirely true I went and got a new tattoo up my inner arm, but didn't want to tell my parents about it so I've left this information out until they found out**) Tomorrow morning it's fair well to mainland Europe and hello London ...
