... that 1) what I'm assuming are the remains of the house are covered in scaffolding and 2) the building block has been turned into this awful commercial tourist attraction, which totally detracted from the whole point of visiting Anne franks house. ... around town - aside from the usual postcards and tourist junk, they also sell an plethora of drug paraphernalia, dildos, and inappropriate t-shirts. Despite our attempts at avoidance, one street linked our apartment to the rest of Amsterdam, and our kids giggled every time we walked by a store with aprons in the window with male and female "privates" popping out of them.

... were very low for this tour. To my great surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed it! It really felt a bit more like an antique boat show. The captain also thoroughly amazed everyone with his ability to navigate a huge boat through some very tiny spaces.After driving Tim's catamaran very briefly and watching Tim do the same I was super impressed with this guy's skills. At any rate, every canal had boats moored along them. There were all sorts of boats. Rowboats, powerboats, sailboats ...
