Last day in the Netherlands

... we couldn’t take any pictures but they did serve us an apple tart and either tea or coffee. After that, we went to the Rijksmuseum where we met guides to show us paintings by the Dutch masters. The museum was jammed but the tour was worthwhile anyway.

The farewell dinner was tonight and then we needed to pack up because we have to be out of our cabins by 9 and then off the ship by 10.

Let's see, two weeks ago was my friend Sonia's birthday so we celebrated her birthday at this bar called The Walkabout. Care: The streets here are full of live sex shows, sex toy stores, bondage stores, "coffee shops" where you can smoke hash and weed inside, weed dispensary and bong stores, munchy shops, and bars. Sarina: There is a museum for everything -weed, prostitution, sex through the ages - you name it they got it. Also, the Amsterdamians, I feel, don't actually understand the word 'café'. ... are tourist traps I'm sure, but still so much fun.
After touring all around the city, seeing the big Amsterdam sign, drinking beer, and figuring out the metro system we ended our trip with a visit to the Anne Frank House. Seeing this house was sad but also a very well set up way to learn a lot about how the holocaust effected people. I felt like I learned a lot through this experience and even decide to re-read Anne Frank's diary.
