... We did have the terrifying misfortune of stumbling across De Wallen, Amsterdam’s famous red light district. I wouldn’t call myself a complete prude but I was absolutely stunned to see women with very little clothing on cavorting in red backed windows! I didn’t even remember Pigalle in Paris being that seedy! We certainly made good our escape let me reassure you!

He was a hard task master but the crew wanted to sail with him as his expertise instilled in them much confidence.

But I digress and back to the Dutch. If they were intent on colonization, we would all be speaking Dutch. But they weren't and even when Hartog ...

... days, though that will likely depend on what happens for the next few nights.

Today we ate cheese, tried on clogs, toured the Heineken Brewery, drank some Heineken, partook in Amsterdam's foliage, and wandered around a sex museum. Apparently size does matter, both in beer and sex. I'll give more detailed thoughts on Amsterdam next time.

I totally got a fluffy tourist beanie to keep my head warm. It's pink of course.
