... Officers and Sergeants especially, were laid out just as they would have been equipped and furnished way back in 1812 or so ... just the sort of thing I am interested in!

After spending the best part of three hours there, I headed off for Casa Loma, a Hearst Castle-like structure in what was once one of the most exclusive suburbs in Toronto ... and which is still pretty nice.

... it to the game - we were supposed to be starting our Eastern Canada tour on Wed morning and its a 6+ hour drive to Montreal from Toronto.

Louise and I returned to the hotel and decided to investigate whether it was possible to leave Toronto a day earlier in order get to Montreal for the ice hockey on Tuesday night. After multiple phone calls and running around town trying to fond the head office for our tour company we finally got confirmation ...

... get our visas sorted....Which became quite an episode for Ash. The immigration people messed up his visa so he had to then go to another room on the other side of the airport and then go through the same process again. Safe to say he was a little bit angry and i was getting irritated as i was really eager to get out the airport. Anyway enough of the emotion **** because we eventually arrived at our hostel and got straight to the drinking which is alway fun, but ...

... about 20 hrs. We filled up at the Sunnyside Grill where a huge chicken salad and burger were accompanied by lots of advice about what to see and what to drink ( half of which we failed to get round to).

After a big fill and finding our way back to our hostel, we subsequently failed to leave the room again falling asleep at around 6pm - a rock and roll start , we know.

Our hostel was more of a hotel, the all brown reception ...

... town does live up to its reputation of being the 'oriental gem'.

The character is very Turkish and similar to Sarajevo or Bosnia, strikingly different from Serbia.
These were ethnic Serbs, not Albanians or Kosovars who I was to meet later. Many homes were chopping wood for the winter while distant sheep grazed on the mountainside.
