... 160; The Essex In (How funny!) could NOT find our booking! After several attempts, a purchased phone card, and a call back to our holiday provider (out of hours assistance) we discovered that the hotel had been fully booked and that we'd been upgraded to very swanky  digs (Millennium Nickerbocker Hotel). So, we were called a cab by Walton (from the Essex Inn) and had a really REALLY pleasant journey to our home for the night. ...

No luck in the car park, so it was quite a walk from the place Paul did find.

On the train once again into the city. I was gasping for a coffee, as we'd not made one before leaving. Makkers was close at hand as we came up the elevator or escalator. But it was ghastly when I finally got it.

... and some not-so-good points to the way we chose to take this trip, things we really liked and things we really didn't. Part of the purpose of writing this blog, rather than just posting photos, was so that those of you that are dreaming of a trip to Europe can take what we learned from our experience, novice traveler to novice traveler. So, here's a bit of a wrap up...

1. We chose to start with a trip to an English-speaking ...
