... had formed a dreadlock, there was no saving it and I had to cut it off. We finished off our day with a delicious dinner at Neil's house and drinks in his fabulous Californian garden complete with pool, hot tub and beer tap (apparently correct name is kegerater)

To finish off the day,we walked around Millennium park and even strolled down to neighboring Grand Park to check out the Buckingham fountain, which was, unfortunately, not in service, perhaps due to the cold weather. It was getting late and we wanted to spend the evening with Kristina's family, so off we went. Once again we hit rush hour, but our luck had run out. Getting out of downtown was just an abysmal experience. Turning left on the street ...

... to London, we slept peacefully. When we awoke in London, it was the morning of the 19th of January. We had a 2 hour and 50 minute layover so we went to 160 Piccadilly to eat Welsh rarebit for breakfast.


At 9:15 AM, we left for the airport and arrived promptly for our 10:10 AM flight to Detroit. We relaxed on the 8 hour and 47 minute flight to Detroit ...
