Today we visited the UNESCO town of Telc. Pronounced Telch like belch. Un untouched 16th. century town.
Had a limited castle tour as they are filming the movie "Emperor". Barbara auditioned for a solo and got the part!! Only problem, we can't be here for the rest of the filming.

OAT prides themselves on learning and discovery ,experiences and today did not disappoint. Our first stop was a medieval monastery near the town. The Gothic buildings were massive, dating back to the 14th century. While the monks took vows of labor and poverty, their was nothing shabby about their home. Today we got to go into the buildings. ... a film could be made there. One of the Czech extras came out in costume to explain the situation. Adrian Brody is the lead and the film will be called The Emperor. This meant we could see the interior of the castle nor could we visit the castle museum. We were disappointed and will have to wait for he movie to see what we missed.

... Next we decided to visit the gardens of the Castle which range from pretty floral displays to neatly cut hedges.
These are extensive and we walked through them all. Tomorrow we will do the tour of the Castle itself.
The river that runs through the town seems to be a hive of activity with lots of small row boats and tourists enjoying the river.

... minute walk to our hostel which felt like 15 minutes with my backpack. My hostel was located just inside the town walls and I was given a bed in a 3 bed dorm that I ended up having all to myself for the duration of my stay which was a nice bonus.
