We spent one week in this cosy and special hotel. We planned every evening with the owner of the hotel where to hike the day after. And every time it was a special experience. We saw a lot of mountain lakes, deers, flowers and the owner one time came with us explaining all about the area: history, geography and bothanic. There are a lot of things to do: clibining, rafting, hiking, MTB tours and mcuh more. ...
... very hard so it got steeper near the end. There were 38 hairpin bends on the way up (and 46 on the way down!!) VERY happy to reach the top as I cramped with 500 m to go. Not good! Amazing views from the top, and felt funny to be riding up through snow covered rock areas. The descent down the "classic side" was awesome with the 46 hairpin turns. Even overtook a bus! Wow. What a climb. Thought I had bit off more than I could chew doing an alpine climb, but did ...
... and ate it as we passed through the countryside. At the top of the Fluela pass we stopped in the cold and rain for lunch where we ate the local - rosti. This little old building is the stop station for the skiers as they ski tour across the alps. Back down the mountain where Ric and Bryan were supposed to get out and ride into but alas it was too wet. ... from races in the states- aid stations had hot bullion to drink, and shots of fruit liquor " to make you warm". At the end, I have never seen so many people smoking at the finish line and while waiting for racers to finish as I saw in Davos. Actually, I don't think I have seen anyone smoking after a race ...
