... was like going back in time. The streets are all cobblestone, and the buildings are brightly painted different colours. We had to rush through which was too bad, but we didn't want to miss our train back to Sibiu. One cool thing we did see (from the outside) was Vlad the Impaler's birthplace. We woke up early on the 7th and hopped on the train to Brasov, central Romania, to meet up with Dimity and Rich again ...

... up it. While inside the warm car, it was interesting to watch the temperature change on the dashboard as we drove up and then back down again. On our way back to Sibiu, we passed "the real castle of Dracula" called Poienari. To get to this 14th century fortress on the top of a high mountain, we had to climb more than 1400 stairs and all I could think was that it better be worth it.

It was! Not only were the views all around this ...
