... br>We had heard that the castle was closed a few days ago because of a rockslide but we still wanted to see the outside. The area that slid is part of the castle wall. A door leading to some room remains attached at the top, opening now onto a cliff below. Walls were OK. It would have been really nice to see the old town inside.

... br>We continue our journey through the Transylvanian hills / mountains and see a green arena, full of pine trees and agricultural areas. The living standard of the people is around the same as in middle Europe in the 50th.

We are lucky and find our hotel without problems, and even without having the possibility to speak to the people we enjoy a good dinner and a good night

Sibiu is a delightful city, small - about 250 000 people, but ready to make your staying one of the best in Romania.
The city, on its German name Hermannstadt, was founded in the 12 century and in 2007 was Cultural European Capital.
The Bruckenthal Palace in the Big Plaza, today an art museum and the Evangelic Cathedral are worth a 2-3 hour visit.
Also, climbing all the way up in the Council Tower , the 12 century gate of SIbiu, let us see the city from above.

Cogimos un maxitaxi desde Sighisoara y en tres horas estabamos en Sibiu. Era muy temprano asi que decidimos buscar un hostal por nosotros mismos. Esta ciudad tiene un gran problema con la acomodacion. Este ano es la capital europea de la cultura y casi no tiene hoteles donde no te den un clavazo. La habitacion mas barata eran 120 Euros!!!! Al final terminamos pagando unos 80 Euros del ala aunque al menos ...
