... She had her favorite places to visit to avoid/beat the hordes of bus tours and never seemed to tire of sharing “her” Island. At one stop she took us to a local beach park to look for Green Sea Turtles swimming in the surf, and we saw several poke their heads up for air as they were feeding. (There were no other busses there) She added so many personal touches it was almost like Barbara and I were the only two on the tour. I still can’t believe how ...

Time to go to our next island- Kauai, the garden Isle. It is only a 35 minute flight but it might as well be hours away as it is so different from Oahu. Less developed and much more lush. We went to go check into our hotel, the Wyndham and the people were so nice. The place was so nice! Alas, there was no air conditioning in most of the places here, but we had many windows and doors that we opened up to get a good breeze going. Our place had a full kitchen with a dishwasher and a washer/dryer, so we did a few ...

A bittersweet parting. I am excited to begin my adventure, but so sad to be leaving my home for these past 3 years. What will I miss? The beach, trade-winds, brilliant rainbows, Hee Fat's shave ice, the slow drivers, not having to look behind my back, not having to lock my doors, my incredibly generous neighbors, the smiles of the people I was privileged to serve at my job. But I will especially miss my ...
