      Waimea canyon

A travel blog entry by kellyham on Dec 10, 2014

We woke up to a very rainy morning so we decked to spent the day on the road to Waimea canyon, 2-3 hours drive from Princeville each way. We were tossed on whether it was worth it yo do the drive but since it's a ****** day, why not. It turned out to be quite a nice day. We drove all the way over and spent about an hour stopping at each of the lookout points. The Kalalau an Pule lookouts were all foggy so we couldn't see the Napoli coast, oh well! The canyon itself ...

We stopped at The Fish Express for a quick snack. We ordered a fish taco and a roll and it was just alright, nothing special. It seems that they specialize in ahi poke but I ...

... of Hawaii’s countryside could slowly drift us around the island and show us bits that not everyone has a chance to see…..well weren’t we in for a little surprise. The morning started with a planned breakfast prepared by the chef (this breakfast was HUGE!) consisting of yoghurts, fruit platters homemade granola, banana and walnut loaf baked that morning. The chef then had to mention that omelettes were made to order (6 eggs in mine please) with a variety of ...

... it causes us to receive a nice cool mist, cooling us down without even having to go in. We find a stray kitten and I share my lunch with it while getting grief from Melissa. We enjoyed our meals while gazing at the 300 foot waterfall and decide we should start the descent before we drink all of our water. Following lunch, we are now on the last liter with 4 miles to go. Now that I am nourished and not fighting off getting sick, we decide to ...
