Chiang Mai. It's the second biggest city in Thailand and a really old place that has a moat around the old city and sections of the original brick wall at the four huge brick gateways and the corners. I was there around 8 years ago and due to rapid expansion and increase in tourism the distinction between old and new parts has almost dissapeared...
