A few Days at Cape Verde
We arrived at Mindelo on the island of Sao Vicente in the the Cape Verde Islands in the early hours of November 29. Our first impression was a surprise at how many yachts were here, both on anchor and in a well established marina. We were expecting a third world country but found a well established town with a mixture of modern shops and traditional markets.

Schitterend groen eiland
... weer terug naar ons resort. Morgenavond nog even het dorp in, want er zijn hier dorpsfeesten ivm een processie komende donderdag en dan is het woensdag tijd voor de (lange) terugtocht. Eerst weer de oversteek met de boot. Halve dag wachten in Mindelo, met het propellervliegtuig naar Sal, en dan om 1.00 de nachtvlucht terug naar huis.

By the third day of camp, I got word from Sarda that we had gotten permission to use the gymnasium for the final two days of camp and host the camper skills challenge and tournament there. This was great news because we were able to get access to the gym even though volleyball, handball, men and women basketball teams all use the one gym on the island to practice.
