... a plan to head down south, where we hadn't really been yet. We packed backpacks and took a train north to Bologna first, because its train station is really central and huge and therefore sends pretty cheap trains everywhere else. (Because of that, it was weirdly cheaper to go north to Bologna and then south, but it meant we got to see an extra city so we weren't complaining.)

... general admission!! Hell yeah!! When I bought my ticket I had no idea where I was sitting. It kinda didn't make sense. So this was a pleasant surprise! So nice too after a long day of travel and having spent way too much money to get here.

The opening act was some woman with a squeeze box. She was terrible. :(. The audience just talked over her. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds came on and blew me away! They were fantastic! So much energy and ...

... We also walked around the city a bit there were many little shops with displays of wrapped pasta, cheeses and meats. The streets had large verandah walkways which blocked out the light and therefor it felt quite dark all day. This was the coldest day so far and i was defiantly wishing i had my thermals on.


When we arrived back in Florence we went to "our dinner deli" and got some pesto pasta, salad and wine and headed into the city center ...

... don't get in a middle of the range airport hotel in
Australia that is for sure.



Checked in and got to my room, small but
again nice, I spied the two things that I had been dreaming of almost since I
left Melbourne, a shower and a proper bed. I have to say that few showers have
felt so good and it was so nice to feel clean again…
