Today is a bit of a sad day. Not only is it the anniversary of 9-11, it is also our last full day in Filderstadt with the Mauz's. They have been so incredibly welcoming and have shown us the REAL Germany. We will miss them very much. Then there is the not getting lost for 4 days!

He was wonderful to meet and even more wonderful to have as our tour ...

At night they would put the wigs in bird cages so that the birds could pick out all of the bugs! Kind of a buzz kill for the romantic notion of life in a castle. Also, the women felt that the whiter their skin looked, the it would show people that they were rich because they could ...

... archivist on his cell phone and he came to the entrance to meet me. We walked downstairs to the basement and through a door into a sort of ante-room and then through another entrance into a large room that was protected by a heavy steel door with a secure lock. Inside the room were about ten to twelve rows of shelving. Each portion of shelving was about 25 feet long and have 6 shelves. The first portion of shelves upon entering was neatly arranged with records in archival boxes which ...
