... U-bahn station at Schlo▀platz to take a train to Vaihingen where we could transfer to the S-bahn to the station near our apartment. Well, anyway that was my plan; however, it there were a few little issues. We were trackside waiting the correct train number that would arrive in 2 minutes when we realized that Brenda needed a ticket and the ticket machines were one level above. ... MUCH faster. I wasn't in their lane but there were a few that were in the fast lane and quickly moved aside.

The hotel here is v neat and clean, the girl at reception was wonderfully helpful

Off to Benz museum tomorrow :-)

BTW I am over my cold and feeling much better tonight. A pizza and red wine helped ...

Up early again to beat the rush for the showers, we were paid up and on the road by 7.30am bound for Freudenstadt, stopping for breakie along the way to take in the views of the northern bounds of the black forest.

We were heading towards Stuttgart – a place the Lonely Planet guide even mentions is only good for two things, and lucky me we got to stop at both – the Mercedes Benz Museum and the Porsche Mueseum.

Not that I don't mind the odd car ...

... the 356 and 911 models which were carried on by his son Ferry Porsche. There are so many immaculate cars on display that it sometimes hard to believe that you aren't in a showroom or that some are vintage autos. There are quite a few of the racers as well from circuits, Le Mans, F1 and even rally examples. The museum winds itself up to the top and you catch the extended escalators back down to the bottom.
