... on it but we still set course for them. They were quite cool to find hidden away in little corners on plastered across big buildings but with the map also having more traditional sights like temples and forts on it, we could break the day up.

It was around 4pm when the rain came and we headed for cover, resorting in getting a taxi back to the guesthouse. Obviously enthralled to be out the rain we didn't notice the metre wasn't on so upon arrival ...

... the aircon is freezing. We hadn't eaten all day so we went off and found a hawker centre that was down near the clan jetty. We walk around looking at them for a bit and they are pretty cool to look at. Would be fun to live there I think. We got a feed that was a chicken rice clay pot for 5 ringgit. ... to the bus terminus at Jetty and jumped on the first bus leaving. We paid twelve rands and sat back for two hours in air conditioned luxury. The bus wound over the mountains in the centre of Penang Island to Balik Palau.

... restaurant for some Indian fast food. It was probably some of the best Indian food I've ever had. Afterwards we tried to go to Monkey Beach but it was closed already. Instead we decided to fill up on petrol and just rode around the island for a bit. We ended up going back to Tree Monkey for dinner just because it was so serene and the view was so great. This beautiful mansion was rented out by tenants for 15 years and the tenants never cleaned the place since their thinking was that they didn't own it. When the house was sold in 1989, a massive cleaning effort began to remove the thick layer of dirt on the ground and the dirt all over the 24 karat gold paneling on the main courtyard doors.
