Overall there are lots of campsites with plenty of spaces (note to Geeks we have a 6 Amp supply so Liz can run her hairdryer AND the kettle at the same time (providing she doesn't have it on the 2 GW setting which trips the supply at the post!)

Today we watched the Giro pass. In all, we were gone from the hotel for less than an hour. A few locals (including a cast of police officers in their flashy uniforms) joined us on a roundabout to watch the passing parade. If I said today was 'uneventful' I would be way off but it was a 'slower day' when compared to other days so far. We left our luggage at the hostel and ventured around the markets for packing another picnic. What a way to shop! We took a cable car to the mountains behind Bolzano - a great view of the Dolomiti. Rain is expected tomorrow so we made the most of our opportunities to see them before the clouds descend. So many walkers - all ages, all abilities. Some seemed to be quite unsteady on their feet but setting off with walking poles in their hands. It seems to be part of the culture - a very healthy way to live.
