... Milan in the 19th century. It is now home to a series of museums and art collections. We passed through the central courtyard to and wandered through the extensive Parco Sempione, stopping to get up close to some local wildlife. Afterwards we headed back into the retail district for a spot of shopping before mixing it with the rush hour traffic on the trip back past Lago di Como to Morbegno.

... Liz needs the toilet urgently so we turn to head back to the upper piazza and hear the gent behind talking with a lady and it is obvious that the see we have gone the wrong way. The lady catches up with us and we explain that we need the toilette. Ah, she says and leads us to the piazza and into the bar there. We drove to Bellagio and then took the ferry to Varrena with the intention of eating lunch then travelling on to Piona to see an abbey. Just opposite the parking station was the Villa Monastera which has a beautiful botanic garden. We decided to look around the garden. They were lovely with an amazing array of plants from all over the world and the unexpected bonus was that the Villa was open for viewing. This is our travel day so you'd think nothing exciting would happen. Our train for Milan was set to leave at 7am and after the last time we almost missed our early morning train we were determined not to almost miss another.
