Finally met Tonz at the airport where we caught a taxi to our guesthouse. Went out and looked at the shops, got the runs, had a snooze, ate Thai Maccas, saw an illusionist show, watched the water show, went on a 4D simulator mine ride, got our feet attacked by little sucker fish.

... we were welcomed by sales staff who followed us around and wanted to show us everything. We mostly ignored them which felt rude, but if we looked even the tiniest bit interested we would be stuck with them. Many pieces of the jewellery were beautiful with big, colourful stones and lots of sparkle, but there was nothing there that we needed to spend a large amount of cash on. Each night I headed into the core of Patong and checked out the festivities. Again, easy to just hang out and have a beer and meet folks. Best night was at Rocking Horse cause all the drag queens came out in their outfits and were soliciting folks walking by (and there were hundreds) to have pic's taken with them (for a price of course). ... time together. Our breakfast this morning is shared with a group of very tame and persistent birds, on the lookout for stray crumbs. Our day consists of more lounging and playing in the pool and a little TV in the cool comfort of our room in the afternoon to escape the sweltering heat. We at least took the precaution of t-shirts in the pool today to protect our reddening shoulders. We walk a good distance down the beach in the early evening for some dinner, choosing one ...
