... br> Back in the car at around 2pm, we headed to Buxton in the Peak District. This is where our navigational and driving issues really came unstuck with us making it to Buxton after 6pm. Our route passed through some picturesque landscapes but I can't say I really appreciated them. The line ' it's all part of the adventure' was wearing thin after the third or fourth wrong turn...

... for 10 mins for a quick cuppa but finally we found Enid's home. She lives in an "old folks home" but has her own room and looks after herself, pretty good for 91 years old. She's such a feisty little woman, so much like Nanna it is lovely, and sad at the same time. I wonder what Nanna would think of us coming here and it's sad that she didn't get to see it, I think she would have been thrilled. Enid was so pleased so see us, we had a cuppa in her room and chatted, the family ...

... some local history. A very steep climb through nettles and brambles led to a cave that is a remnant of early lead mining in the area. Back in the village, we treated ourselves to ice creams at Roma's Tuck Shop. Yumm! Dinner was takeout fish-and-chips so we could watch some football. The US game is later tonight.
