A Room in Paris

Seriously, everything was sculpted intricately and i just don't see how even a King could want all that, it was ridiculous. The pictures show a bit, but it doesn't do it justice. ... We braved an open top bus tour, despite the chilly weather (minimum temperature tonight is 8 degrees celsius and day's high was around 18 degrees celsius), to see the sights lit up in all their grandeur. We are heading off to Avignon early tomorrow morning. Time for bed me thinks - bonne nuit.

... up for this weekend, just killing time seems like a crime. My advice is to decide even before you go on the one thing that you're going to save for the Sunday afternoon. A small museum is a good idea. Starter for Sam was a deliciously chunky duck liver pate followed by an amazing palate cleanser that was a combination of a white bean icecream, codfish, and red pepper mousse. ... were flying in from Athens. The 4 of us rented an apartment right in the of Paris. A hotel would probably run you at least 150 euros in this part of town. Were paying about 12 each per night. Small but nice. Bedroom, kitchen/dining room plus bathroom and terrace. But its still really cool. Today is Bastille day, pretty much the 4th of July for France. ... little surprised to say the least. anyway, since i had such little time left - i hope you are sitting - we skipped the orsay and went to the opera house instead. then we chilled in a cafe paris style for a bit and did a little people-watching and met up in a couple of hours for a tasty dinner followed by world cuppage action at a pub. not much america celebrating, but all round a great day. some departing thoughts on paris: -they are many chic and hip people in paris ...
