... our students Sung and Lynette to see the Tang Dance Show. This was definitely one of my biggest highlights of the trip so far. The set pieces and choreography were spectacular and even though the story was in Chinese, it was easy to understand what was going on all the time. China has been amazing so far and the weekends could not be any more action packed!

Lucky with the hard seat this time and only 8 hours - the train was half empty and no one stared at all....result! Arrived pretty mashed looking forward to the free pick up which didn't happen (they forgot us! how could anyone do that?!) Escaping the free -for-all assault from tuc-tuc drivers, taxi drivers, food sellers and old ladies selling tourist maps we lugged our body bags 3 km's to the hostel which turned out to be like a posh hotel for backpackers!   • The Xi'an museum and digital market. We would have bought some stuff here, but it was British prices and fake - a disappointment after a week of build up!
  • Food-wise, the highlight was a hotpot - cooking our own meat and veg in our own bowl of boiling spicy soup.
