... Center for International Cooperation. The University people made the connection because by working with the NGO, they can get me my work permit, then I can teach at the University. As it is, I'm perfectly happy to just keep teaching at Kim's. The woman and husband are fairly wealthy and offered me a "Villa" to live in if I tutored their kids and some other people. That sounded good, until I got to see the Villa. Basically I'd have a bedroom in a very large house that I'd share with a ...

4. Who taught vietnamese women to sniff their men as a sign of affection?
5. The fruit is so good I can't bring myself to use the Vita Mixer that I lugged here.
6. The Vietnamese are not fat like us Americans because they are not constantly confronted and tempted by junk food being shoved in their faces.
7. I'd give anything for a good poop.
... made a new plan as we wanted to go to Hanoi by train. We always looked forward to this part of the trip, as the train goes by the whole coast of Vietnam. We booked our tickets that night for the following day, to leave at 6.15 in the morning. To Hanoi, 2 sleeper beds and 35 hours of train in front of us!! That night the electricity went out around 4 am. We hardly noticed as we got up at 5 am. Packed the bags and said goodbye to Mr Grumpy Son as he still had some night ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam paulyandblondyWell this week has just flown by! I left Mui Ne Saturday morning with Lee(England) , Sonny (England), and Richie (OZ). John and Chris wanted to spend a few more days relaxing in Mui Ne so I went ahead to get certified with Lee and Sonny. The scuba course was 3 days and included 2 dives each day. I was told by a couple of people that Nha Trang is actually the cheapest place to get certified in all of Asia. I payed $220 US and I tell you it was ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam tlow82... I had visited Nha Trang in 2006, we ended up staying for nearly a week and a half -- there's just something about the place that draws you in and makes you want to set down stakes. The magic would prove to be around for this trip too, starting with the hotel, of course. After luxuriating in the enormous bathtub, we hit the town in search of a favorite restaurant, Little Italy City Pizza, from our last trip. They weren't ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam koppers... engaged in capitalism to the max. It's filled with tourists, from all over the world, basically to enjoy the beach and laze away the summer days. It's got great diaphonous waters, palm tree lined beaches and enough activities to occupy one for a couple days. There's a good bar scene, with happy hour being ubiquitous.
I didn't really do much, other than get a suntan, sleep a lot, eat in fancy ...
... the government to use it.
We found it incredible that they could let the reef be destroyed in this way, not only for the obvious environmental reasons, but mainly for the fact that they could have an amazing dive tourism industry here. Koh Tao in Thailand has similar reef and attracts thousands and thousands of tourists each year purely for the diving, surely that ...
... that i spotted a moray eel and scorpion fish before Bang. he was dead impressed and shook my hand. the eel was huge and first time i had seen a moray! Back onto the boat we went upstairs to the top deck. where we jumped off. dave impressing us with flips and teaching us how to do a no hands dive! second dive was as good but got to play with a massive jellyfish. Dave and Steph loved it which i was very relieved about ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam amberandalice... found out that the bus had broken down (?!), so rather than watching the sunrise in the ancient ruins, we actually watched the sun come up outside his tour office in the centre of town. Mmmmm, well worth getting up before dawn for then?!
After a change of bus and me managing to restrain myself from chucking him across the street in frustration we ...
