... immediately. It was early evening when we arrived, so we drove through downtown Victoria by night and got our first glimpse of the provincial capital of British Columbia. Rowena’s apartment was in a swish new eco-designed development just across the bridge from the centre of town, making it only a 10 minute walk to all the main sights & attractions. But for our first night we just settled in and got to know each other whilst sinking a few cold ...
Victoria, British Columbia, Canada swaffAfter a couple of cups of BLACK coffee, Kathy sent me off with some sandwiches and fruit for my drive to Kelowna via the ferry from Tsawassen to the mainland. After the hour and a half ferry ride, I set out on the 5 hour drive through the Fraser Delta, the Cascade Mountains and then on to the ...
Victoria, British Columbia, Canada hilaryford... out of the house on Patterson Road and into Oceanside RV Resort in Saanichton - we returned. We will remain here until about the end of October. At that point, we leave for parts unknown - well, somewhat known. We plan to spend the following (6) months in CA, AZ and possibly NM.
Although we have no regrets and thoroughly enjoyed our (19) months and 60,000 km. on the road, we intend to travel a little less in future. We find that we are a tad ...
... the smoother sailing by traveling with the protection of the Islands rather than in the open ocean. We all were very happy to meet up with Uncle Rick and his crew at Roche Harbor at 1:30. We were greeted at the dock by Kaiser, staff from last year who remembered Grandma- probably because we always have fun with Grandma. Kaiser got us a ride on the golf cart to the hotel, who told us that check in wasn't until 3pm. So, we went back to the dock, pulled up ...

From San Josef Bay, trails lead to Sea Otter Cove via the summit of Mount St. Patrick. The 10-kilometer hike takes about five hours. The beach at Sea Otter Cove is only passable at mid to low tide. It is about two kilometers from the cove to Lowrie Bay. NOTE: Hiking times may be considerably longer in inclement weather or when trails are muddy.
Victoria, British Columbia, Canada dyner... one at that) was there in a flash to usher them and their bags inside. Keith whispered the parting words "This is going to cost you big time mate. Keith and I then organized a hire car so we could return Jim and Jen's. This required me to drive on my own - through Victoria. A rather nerve-racking experience since it has been over 30 years since driving left-hand drive. But as with everything on this trip so far, all went to plan and we arrived back at J&J's without ...
Victoria, British Columbia, Canada jody1... to follow the puck around the ice is about as easy as following Pris Hilton's love life, in other words it is all over the place. However the atmosphere is fantastic and the highlight of Vancouver's 3-2 overtime victory belonged to the Oilers. With Vancouver all cocky and 1-0 up the fans started and "Oilers suck" chant that was about as mature as it was amusing. 30 seconds into this chant the Oilers slotted one right into the back of the net and the word karma came straight to mind ...

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada c_and_s_henwood... But we armed ourselves with machetes (kidding) and headed down there one Sunday evening to check out the annual night market. It was quite a strange happening, as there was Chinese pop music blaring, random gambling tables, and a man speaking in Cantonese trying to sell knives - and waving them about crazily! In addition to this, there were the obligatory electronics stalls and food stands. The funniest thing we saw though, were these visors which are adjustable - in the sense that they ...
