The article has since been refined by different Internet users
and it now sounds like a study by a research organization instead of being the
opinion of an individual, Kang said. Phrases like "I think" and "I believe" that
appeared in the 2006 article has been removed in the new version that he
published, he said.
Kang said he was running his website,

... there with a woman, probably his mother, and just about to start having a lunch, as the Chinese so often do. As soon as I saw him, I asked PingPing to ask him for me if he would be so kind to have a picture taken with me. I found it kind of cool to see someone dressed in my country's national football jersey halfway across the world from where I live. Never shy of speaking with people she never knew, PingPing approached the guy and explained him where I was from and what I asked of him. Both ...
Beijing, China the_wayfarer... train at the Tiān'ānmén Xi could do so, and whoever wanted to get on the train there, couldn't. As simple as that. No further discussion. Let alone explanation. So we had to cross the square again and go on to the Tiān'ānmén Dong, same as yesterday. The Square was already crowded. But as the days passed by, I grew more accustomed to it. Of course, it would amaze and amuse me every now and then, particularly in underground passages when you'd have a feeling that a ...
Beijing, China the_wayfarer... At each peak there is what used to be an old tower. There are fletcher holes for shooting arrows along the northern border of the wall, and in every tower. This was still the high tourist season, but there really werent too many people on the wall at all. There were a couple of points where we were actually hoping to see someone just so we knew were werent the absolute last people on the wall, or that we hadn't gone the wrong way on one of the detours.
Beijing, China bjergaardAfter working on the Women's Marathon on Sunday, I was done early enough to go to see the Forbidden City, which is the center of Beijing and the castle/residence of the last 500+ years of Chinese emperors. It was truly magnificent and vast. I wasn't able to see all of it but I saw a lot of the main areas. What was interesting was seeing the National Treasury area, which wanted an ...
Beijing, China lsrieck... Dajie with at the end the Drum Tower, Beihai Park and of course the entire city itself. It might be a good idea to start your sightseeing trip of Beijing here. Below the hill there are a small gardens with benches to relax weary feet and maybe write a postcard or two. Helpful Tips It is a perfect spot to watch the sunset. Nice flowers in season, and good for strolling. April and May ...
Beijing, China flothetraveller... not finding each other in the airport itself were ill-founded; with one international arrivals gate even we couldn't have screwed it up. Not long after that we were back in the city and settling into our RMB220 (€21) room at my old Beijing hangout, The Far East Hotel. It was all very easy peasy. Early Days Apart from the ease of our meeting there is nothing ...
Beijing, China byrnedm... to get absolutely swamped with chinese tourists (even though the place is bloody massive) so we decided to leave and head for the forbidden city. This place at first is just a massive daunting maze. There is some crazy number of exhibits for you to look at (in the millions..impossible to see in one visit). We basically did a lap down one side of the city till we hit the southern gate and then came back up the other side. There was ...
Beijing, China traveller_pie... found ourselves going round in circles so tried to get our driver to ring the hostel. It seemed he didn't have a clue how to ring the number we gave him so we had to do it ourselves. Another 20 minutes and three expensive calls to the hostel and we eventually pulled up outside our accommodation! The complete lack of any common language was proving to be a bit of a challenge. On checking into the hostel we came across the common situation of being given a twin room when we ...
Beijing, China gonetilwheneverNot a lot to report this time around. I've been a good little geek, busily reading, writing, and getting to chat with a lot of quite interesting folks--including some fellow expat scholars and Chinese environmentalists. My initial research proposal was quite broad, but I think that as I get deeper into this whole experience I'm finally beginning to narrow my focus. Hopefully by the time I get back to India in a few months, I'll ...
