Today I took a trip to Nanjing, about 1hr20 on the high speed train north of Shanghai. The guides are full of energy, they point out the locals that to this day continue to live within the gorges, and sing some of the famous Chinese songs. Although you won't understand a word of the lyrics unless you are fluent in Mandarin, hearing the locals sing along is quite entertaining.
