Day 7: Rainy Day in Old Town
... We've had our fair share of tempura but never this way. The restaurant seats about 10 and its all at the bar. We ordered a set menu of an assortment of fried seafood and vegetables. And yes you guessed it, and a ice cold beer for me. The chef/owner fries everything right in front of you and places it on your dish sizzling hot. Day 6: Takayama - Old Town and Bike Tour
... the overwhelming taste of fat. I think it may have also been the sirloin cut. It did taste extra fatty with barely any meat on it. Dessert was a vanilla gelato sprinkled with dried raspberry crystals. It was very nice. Not too sweet with a bit of a sour taste from the raspberry. Great way to cap off the meal. We've spent one night in Matsumoto, at a nice little hostel that gave us bikes for free! So we explored Matsumoto, which is not very big and very "bike-friendly", and visited Matsumoto Castle.
