... planning to go to Xinjiang, advising me not to go, or at the very least expressing concern. My biggest personality flaw is that I am incredibly stubborn. Sometimes to the point where even though my decision might not have been the best and I have chances to turn back, I will still soldier on. If it is a moral matter and I did the wrong thing, I won't do this. It is more to do with travel decisions, career choices, boyfriends... mostly just things that inconvenience or hurt myself as ...
Lanzhou, Gansu, China iolair... says no!
Lanzhou, Gansu, China tonicastells... or in the west we know it as Won Ton Soup)) on this day. It's said that in the Han Dynasty, when Hun tribes attacked China's borders, two tribal leaders were the fiercest. One was named Hun and the other Tun. So when people made food to offer to their ancestors and celebrate the festival, they called the dumpling soup they ate huntun to show their hatred for their enemy. In other parts of northern China, such as Henan ...
Shangzhou, China eddakath... __________________ The soundtrack to this entry was once again by a huge assortment of bands! The album was 'Channel V - Music Television China!' Strangely it seems as if they are replaying last nights. Is all music television like this? Has it not changed at all? _______________________________________ ___________________
Ji Gong Shan, China eddakath... simply because I liked the name of the mountain. I had not a single piece of information on either the mountain or how to get there. And without either that makes one hell of a ************fusing journey ahead here in China! Luo Wei and I headed to the 'advanced train booking office' the other day whilst we were still in Kaifeng and there we found out I had to catch ...
Ji Gong Shan, China eddakath... rip off tourist trap. You'll have to deal with the Terracotta Tourist Trap Army: ranks upon ranks of souvenir stands, subpar and overpriced snack joints manned by aggressive shills and wheedling vendors. Xian is, like other Chinese cities, generally quite safe. Just watch out for pickpockets (usually children) in crowds. I recommend to compare hotel ...
Xian, China flothetraveller... toya.....shane (that is still happily here!) sexu, Sichuan, China qian_0_wei... the souvenir shops, get our tickets and make our way about 500 metres to the cloak room and entrance, possibly 15 minutes late for the English language tour, but by the time we check the bag, but not the camera or Palm Pilot, there is an "English Speaking" guide ready for us. His English is pretty ordinary, but he gets most of the picture across. A lot of the presentation involves lament and accusation about the scrolls and documents knocked off by the various ...
