    ... to see while I was in China. I was a little disappointed though. I was expecting to see 6000 statues neatly lined up. It was still impressive I guess that in my mind I was expecting more. On the other hand The Longman Grottoes in Luoyang were actually more impressive than what I was expecting. Finally, the Shaolin Temple was exactly what I thought it would be.

    ... was something right out of an Indian Jones movie. It was very impressive. We were all really happy to make it back to campus tonight. Temperatures were hovering around 40 degrees Celsius - and no wind. At least the heat helps with my China diet - even if most of it is sweat.     ... to Longmen Grottoes. It was interesting go see millions of Buddhas carved into the stone mountains. All different kinds, shapes, and sizes of Buddhas. Each section of carvings had it's own distinct meaning. What was most incredible and heart stopping was the sheer size of 3 giants Buddhas that were carved into a high section of the mountain.
