Just only keep away from demonstration places namely, Rachadamneon road, Selom road, Vongvean Yai circle. If you have been in Bangkok but have no idea where to go try to visit to http://1bangkoktravel.blogspot.com. No big demonstrations going on in Bangkok right now. Business as usual!

Opening post is over 2 years old.

A simple Google check gives you some quick information that you can research.

Have fun.

Fly to Bangkok round trip if coming from long distance. Visit Bangkok, visit northern Thailand (Chiang Mai is popular) and maybe a beach areas. Final night or two back in Bangkok for shopping and to be closer to the airport.

What you see depends on your own particular interests. Buy or borrow a travel guide on Thailand and plan your visit. Kid backpackers like to head to Koh Phangan. Retirees - Chiang Mai and if they want to save money at a beach area maybe even Pattaya. The beach at Pattaya is no good for swimming. (Okay for shopping, nightlife, malls, sunbathing, etc.) Hotels have pools. This beach area is cheaper than Bangkok. Bangkok is cheaper than Phuket. Got some money, a woman traveling alone - Phuket is popular. A man traveling alone, looking for nightlife - Bangkok and Pattaya are popular.

Up to you.
