Hi all,

I was thinking about planning a road trip of the east cost. I will start in Savannah, GA and so far have planned for DC, Boston, VA Beach, then back home. I was just wondering if anyone else knows of some off the map places that are along the way.

I enjoy taking pictures, and absolutely love small towns. So, if anyone knows any interesting places, please let me know.

Thanks,

Freddie

Hi Freddie.

Our family traveled the east coast from Baltimore on down to Florida along the I95. We stopped at the B&O Railroad Museum which was interesting if you like trains. When we got to Virginia Beach, we made sure we visited Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. That place is so much like being in Europe that we liked it better than the Busch Gardens (The Dark Continent) that we visited when we got to Florida. If you like NASCAR I would visit the track in South Carolina I'm sure the Nascar museum is a must-see, we didn't yet, but when we were in Florida we took the track tour of Daytona Raceway which we found just amazing how cars can stay on the banked track in the corners.

Hope you enjoy your trip,
Ray Brown (from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada)

Hi Ray,

Thanks for the cool info! I like taking pictures of trains, (it's one of the strange pictures I collect), so I'm pretty excited about that. I also loooove roller coasters so Busch Gardens sounds like a lot of fun.

Thanks,

Freddie

Freddie, I don't remember much but, I don't think there are a lot of roller-coasters in the Williamsburg Busch Gardens only the Busch Gardens in Florida. I do remember a few beer gardens and Oktoberfest parties (very German/European) with oom-pa-pa musik.

Enjoy, Ray

Hi Freddie,
I would add Rhode Island to your list of destinations. You will pass it en route to Boston and it's a worthwhile stop. I would recommend going to the Cliff Walk in Newport. In fact, all of Newport is very pretty for walking by the ocean, going to shops, and just enjoying a day without a care in the world. Good luck!
