When I think of traveling with kids, I do not think about fancy-pants Euro trips. But, there are lots of things to do in London, besides clubbing and stepping around the puke leftover from the last night's soccer match....

The Science Museum is actually really cool aswell, I'm like a big kid when I go there. Its just pressing loads of buttons and doing really fun stuff like centrifuge machines, solving puzzles etc.

My kids, then 10 and 6, really enjoyed The Natural History Museum and Tower of London. They also enjoyed the "fish and chips" experience in a pub.

The London Eye would be a good one for children, also Madame Taussauds and the London Aquarium and then there is the Chamber of Horrors for your little monsters! Love it!
Kit, you really should have given your children the "real" fish & chip experience, out of paper from the local "chippie"!!!!!!!! Awesome!

Haha, yah, I have yet to try fish and chips, as well. Ever since I read the account of fish and chips in Ulysses...(yah I'm also a book dork) I wanted to eat fish and chips there.

I'll put that on the itenerary for next time for sure! (I need to experience that myself).

Make sure you do research though on the best fish and chip shops in London! Always worth a look!

The London Eye is fun for the kids, and for the parents it offers a nice way of keeping them amused while you can sit and relax for 30 minutes in your pod. I recommend going after you've been in town a bit so you have some idea of what you're looking at.

One thing to note is that the line-up for tickets can get HUGE. Plan on going early. We followed it up with a boat trip down the Thames to Greenwich (there's a dock just below the eye). This is a great thing for slightly older kids (although under 8s would probably languish) as there is SO much to see, and you get such a different perspective of London from here. We took a tube back into the city afterwards, as the same boat trip back would have lost much of its charm
