I'm really not sure yet. But Stockholm is definitely on the list. But I do want to venture around a bit. Any ideas? smile.gif

I've been to Gothenburg and Malmo... I think the rain unfairly maligned my opinions of them! Everything I hear about Stockholm though suggests its awesome and would be a great place to visit - I'm not sure of anywhere else in the country to be honest. I do remember it being a tad expensive though!

Which was expensive, the flight or costs of staying there?
Did you go to Copenhagen while you were near it? That's another place I'm looking to visit sometime.

The flight was cheap as chips, but I was coming from England so its pretty close. Where are you flying from?

Relative to other places in Europe, costs of accomodation/food/transport were higher as Sweden's not in the Euro, but it probably cost similar to or a little bit less than the UK. Not as expensive as Norway though, thankfully!

Yeah I went to Copenhagen, that comes highly recommended, it was lovely.

Yeah, I'll be flying from England too. Not sure which airport yet, will have to check around for prices.
Yeah, they still use krona, is it?
But Norway is just next door to Sweden, what makes it so expensive?
I really want to see the Stoget (not sure if I spelt that right) for the street performers. smile.gif

www.kayak.co.uk is a good site for comparing flight prices.

I flew from Glasgow Prestwick to Gothenburg on Ryanair, I think it was about £15 or something, but it was a few years ago... just check out the budget airlines and I'm sure you'll get something fairly cheapo.

Yes its Kroner I think... stretching my memory now, heh. I think Norway and Denmark are Kroner too, but they're all different forms of currency. I know Norway has a very high tax rate and its a very stable state with a good economy - I think thats part of the reason why things are so expensive. I don't really know though, I found it hard to believe there were places more expensive than England to be honest!

Ah thanks, I'll have a browse. smile.gif
I hope I'm lucky enough to find something like that!
Thank you for your help.

Hey Ness,

Welcome to Travelpod smile.gif

You've definitely come to the right place for information. I see you've already been getting some helpful info from Sianeth.

Seems between many of the member in the forums, much of the world is covered! And what you might not find in here you can search for through the blogs. Another great resource for lots of helpful information!

You're trip sounds great and you seem really excited! I've visited Sweden, years ago now, mostly Stockholm, but had a fabulous time nonetheless.

See you 'round... yes.gif
