Lots of us love nature but sometimes when you're in a city it's not the easiest thing to find some green space!

Cities that make the effort to give people a nice space amidst the concrete jungle get my vote!

A new poll has some suggestions for some of the greatest inner city parks out there.

1. Stanley Park, Vancouver
2. Bois de Boulogne, Paris, France
3. Assiniboine Park, Winnipeg, MB
4. Hyde Park, London, England
5. Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney, Australia
6. Millennium Park, Chicago, Illinois
7. Mount Royal Park, Montreal, QC
8. Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, California
9. Central Park, New York City, NY

What do you guys think? What are some other city parks out there worth a mention?

I would add Boston Common. Even though it's not as big as some of these other ones, it's still a fantastic place to kick back and throw a frisbee around! yes.gif

Central Park is a lot of fun (great boulder climbing there), but no one should sell Brooklyn's Prospect Park short, designed by the same guy -- who also designed Cherokee Park in Louisville, KY, which would be one of the greatest city parks in the world if it weren't for all the flashers, perverts, vomiting teens drinking cheap whiskey, and muggers. But outside of that, it's gorgeous.

Ahh, sounds like High Park in Toronto. We used to go there all the time when we were growing up. It's huge and green and awesome. Well, it used to be.
Now it really is 'High' Park, full of crackheads and other super shady characters doing super shady things! dry.gif

Lumpini Park and Serithai Park - but you aren't allowed to go there - it is mine.

In Sydney there is a series of parks and bushlands that you can connect up and get through and out of the city without having to deal with humans and the city much - what is the name of that? (if it has one?)

I remember the park in Manang was always empty of people _ I think that was because of the crocodiles though.

The park just out of Chiang Mai heading up to Doi Suthep - name?

I meant Madang not Manang - no crocodiles nor park in Manang - some nice Yaks though

Yes, I know the one you mean but I don't recall the name either.

And Lumpini Park is great. I've spent some lovely afternoons there.

How about Washington Park in Portland, Oregon? Granted, Portland isn't much of a concrete jungle, being a very green city in and of itself. smile.gif It's a fantastic park though.
