Everyone loves to share their travelogues and what better way than providing here a direct link to your favorite picture posted on this webpage. This will give us (ok, maybe just me!) a chance to see some incredible pictures from around the world and at the same time if we want to go further we will already be at your website.

My favorite picture would be of Delicate Arch is Arches National Park in the U.S.
Here is my fav pic:

And here is one page with a bunch of pics on one page for Arches National Park:

ya, i know there's a featured photos page but mine don't make it up there often enough (you would think the pictures of my thumb blocking a scenic view would obviously be the best). it's a conspiracy i tells ya. anyway, here are some of my favorites from the continent of africa (though i'm being limited on number of photos i can post).

A pair of lions in the Massai Mara,,,,,, Sunset with acacia tree:

hope you enjoy the pictures. maybe i'll put up some more from the other continents. i could also make a collage of my thumb, if you'd prefer.
whereshegoes
Wow Tom! Those are stunning! Why don't you Feature them? I especially like the sunset ones and the pyramids.

Well done!
exploreamerica
Thanks for sharing, Tom. The picture of the sunrise and the one of the sunset were out of this world! I am ready to book my ticket to Africa now.

Yes, Steve pointed out about the feature page, but there are so many there to go through that I thought it would be fun for people to just post a few of their favorites here. I think it is more personal here too.

So which continent are you sending next?
exploreamerica
I don't know how you inserted them in directly, but here are some from my trip to Petra this past summer:

Hey Stuart, check THIS out on how to post photos directly into your posts. I just learned how.

I've not featured any of my photos, but I have not upoaded too many yet. Time. I just haven't got it!

I like this thread too. You're right, it is more personal. I enjoy the commentary as well. smile.gif

Easter Island looks cool.
exploreamerica
Tom, I hate you! I am so jealous of you. I have been telling people about your African sunset picture all day and of course had to show my wife to try to convince her we need to go there.
The Easter Island and Machu are amazing. Machu is on the top of my list for places I want to go. I was going to go 2 years ago on my own, but ended up paying for our wedding. Now as I think about it again I am creating a huge trip to incorporate all of south america too!

Thanks for sharing, Tom. I'll be waiting for another continet when you have the chance.

Susie, thanks again for the advice. You are my travelpod savior!
His Royal Monkeyness
easter island was a cool place to visit for a few days. i liked the tropical feel there. it had been a while since i was somewhere islandy like that. seeing the statues was a great experience. i especially liked the areas where the statues were still in the process of being carved and just abandoned (no one knows why). it's a pricey place to visit though, that's why i was only there a little while.

Ohhh, the moonrises! I love them. Take them anyday over a sunrise, although the sunrises are pretty as well.
Bloomer, your moonrise from Manali is gorgeous.
I am still working on my nightshots. They're getting better!
My favourite are the pictures of people. So much character.

Guys, your picture are so beautiful. I'm working on getting a few in here to share.

I've found the secret to the night shots is to make sure the camera does not move or jiggle at all.
Wind can even throw it off, or someone walking on the second floor--as the exposure time is so long. Also helps if you have a good camera ( I do not).

Hung around with a swiss guy who was cycling to Leh from manali (crazy man!) and he showed me some night shots of the
Spitti valley that words cannot describe! All hail the night shots!
wakingdream
I use a tripod, but I still find I have to be so extra careful.
I like the street shots at night and how you can manipulate the lights and make them go all crazy looking.

I just started this love affair with the moon so am lurking about late at night.
I think my neighbors wonder about me.......
exploreamerica
Bloomer, those pictures were fantastic!
The moonrise picture was beautiful!! YES, I am with both of you in that I love watching the moon too!

Bloomer, I am a big fan of people pictures too. I thhink pictures like that really capture your travels too. In my class I have so many people pictures so my students can see that we arre all really the same and yet have our own beautiful cultures and styles to share.

Any more to see?
Susie, I am waiting for yours.
I also hope Tom will take us to another continent.

Bloomer, i can't tell where the monkey is in your sunset picture! i want to see the monkey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (is he just a silhouette?)

i like the clouds in your last mt picture. i have trouble getting good moon pictures. it always just turns out looking like a white light in the sky (no detail).

work is slow, so maybe i can do another continent. europe will have to be split up into at least a couple posts.

Stuart, we moved. It was monumental. My husband built the house. It took 14 months. Everytime I start searching for the photos, things like hanging doors get in the way...hmph. wink.gif

Bloomer, nice monkey.

Tom, I've got some great monkey pics for you! I have the funniest video as well of one of the gibbons I used to take care of. He's just walking by the water, but they look like giant puppets and walk like E.T.! They are sooo funny!

I also love the Pingyao shot. It's great.
His Royal Monkeyness
Bring on the monkey pics, Susie! Where were you at when you were working with monkeys? I visited Monkeyland in South Africa and as we were leaving a gibbon (I think) came walking down the path then hopped on the fence and put its arm around another little monkey. The little monkey kind of stared at him like "wtf?" and jumped away. It was cute. How come there's no :monkey: emoticon?

I'll have to post a photo collage of my lil' monkey friend on here.

Wildlife Friends of Thailand in the south. It was one of the most wicked experiences ever! My main position was with the elephants, but i love monkeys too, so did some work with them. they're pretty awesome. You'll love the pics....

Okay Tom, I got a few of the pictures uploaded. There are loads more, but I think you need a monkey fix.

The little guy on the right was just like a baby. So was sooo cute. He had these little, little, hands and feet. When I went in to feed him he would jump on my back, sit on my shoulder and play with my earlobes ever so softly. Other times he would freak right out.

Tom...amazing as always. I think you missed your calling. You should be working for N.G.

I have been so swamped with work and then at night with classes for my Masters but one of these days I promise I am going to sit down and read your round the world trip.
I guess pictures are supposed to say a thousand words so from the ones I have seen I guess I have read a lot, right? But I can't wait to read it. I'm afraiid it will inspire me
to pick up and do the same! My trips are always confined to as much as I can do in 2 months during summer vacation so I will need to find a way to get out of work. I'm sure my students would love a substitute teacher for a year.

with about 15,000 photos there's bound to be 1 or 2 good ones. flowers.png when i'm wandering around, i often see things from a camera lens point of view. i know, it's weird. i'll be walking along, stop and see something that i think would make a good picture (or adjust where i'm standing so it looks just right). i should post a series of my blurry, out of focus and just real bad pictures.

you'll have to let me know if you are passing through portland on your next roadtrip this summer. i'm stuck here, but summer is great in the pacific nw. (last weekend of july is brewfest!)
exploreamerica
I am sure I will pass Portland. I will drive from southern CA to northern and camp at every National Park there along the way. Then I will drive north toCrater Park and then in WA I want to see Olympic and the Hoh Rainforest. Then I will go west to Glacier Park in Montana before heading back home.

Any suggestions in those areas? I heard there may have been damage near the Hoh rainforest or with the roads. Also even thoough it is summer, with the elevation in some areas I hope there won't still be icy roads or impasses.
