We are planning to drive from Florida to New York during May and June of 2013. We have most of the trip mapped out, but are unsure whether to stick to the coast or go inland via the Blue Ridge Parkway. We don't think we'd have time to do both.

We are interested in natural attractions (obviously), but are also keen to see cultural and historical attractions as well. We are not adverse to sampling the local cuisine, but have little interest in drinking and casinos.

If anyone who lives in the area, or has traveled both, can give us some advice we'd be grateful.

I think, from listening to what you want to do, the mountains are more for you. In Asheville, you can go see the Biltmore and go hiking. Hope this helps!
