Hi All!

I'm a brand new member at TravelPod, just signed yesterday. I really like this page and I am looking forward to all the time I'll be spending here! yes.gif

I am from Finland and I have been studying tourism in university since january 2006. I have a double-degree from England and Finland, or will have once I gratuate this December. So far it's just bachelor, but I will continue to do a masters degree somewhere. At the moment I am doing my internship in Mutianyu village, Beijing, China.

Traveling is really a passion of mine, and I have traveled quite a lot. And will travel lot more in the future, hopefully! So far, my favourite countries are probably Iceland, Mongolia, China and Croatia. And England.

So hello to everyone! Let's keep on traveling!

All the best,

Pietari

Wellcome to Travelpod piertari,
Yes, it's really nice here, and you will have fun reading peoples stories and seeing many many photos!
You mentioned a number of countries, but I see that you did not include neither Greece nor Cyprus in your list.
So, thinking that you might change your opinion, I hope you open the address below and see photos from both Cyprus and Greece and the beautiful islands we have here. Besides the weather is always beautiful!

Have a nice summer, and progress in your studies!

Hi Pietari!

Welcome to the forums! What's China like to live in? You should post some pics and info in your blog biggrin.gif I've never been to China.

Hey thanks for welcoming me! smile.gif

Greekcypriot: even though I've been to over 40 countries, I've never been to Greece which is a shame actually. I am sure it's a beautiful place and promise to go there someday! I went to Cyprus when I was a kid under 10years old, so I don't have any real opinions on that one either. Greece definitely fascinates me more that Cyprus, however.

It has been quite nice living in China, thanks for asking! Although I live in the village, the best part of living here is going to Beijing once a week - I really think that's my favourite city on the planet, and that's also one reason I came here (I've been before in 2004). I've been learning some chinese, but obviously the most difficult thing in living here is the language barrier. Sometimes it's fun, sometimes frustrating. Overall, it's been nice, chinese people are nice, food is really good (although really oily) and landscapes/views just breathtaking. I'll write new entries on the blog soon! And pictures - I have loads of those!

Best regards,

Pietari

I have been in Beijing some years ago, but I found it too crowdy.
It is beautiful outside but in the centre it is horrible I guess. I needed 8 minutes to cross the road from our Kempinski Hotel to buy something. It is also extremely dangerous trying to cross.
Cyprus is a very small island but with great history, beautiful beaches and Mountains with picturesque little villages. Probably when there at the age of about 10 as you mentioned you were just interested in playing!!!
Yes Greece is beautiful and worth visiting.
Let us know when you put new entries with photos.
