Do you have a particular packing system?
I keep telling you how much I hate packing.

Yesterday I was ironing some winter clothes and putting them away and taking out summer clothes. Suddenly I got dizzy thinking that there will soon be another trip and again I need to pack. The moment I hate and try to avoid until the very last moments.
Do you travel light or do you want to carry (everything with you)?
How do you feel when this time comes? In what order do you pack and what is usually the weight of your luggage if it is a 2 week holiday and summer?
Share your tips with us if you wish.

I start packing a week before I leave. Each day I think of something else I should or shouldn't take with me. That way I have 7 days to think everything thru rather than throw everything together at the last minute.
Also, each day, I see what's happening at my destination, via internet, which also gives me further ideas of what I would or wouldn't need.

I can see that being a good idea,
I have packed and unpacked so many times, but I'm trying to get what I need and dont need, and I carry mine every day, a a bit of training, I mean, no point in having something light then finding out you have a larger heavier pack to lug about
There are some things you cant leave behind, some things you really need, and some that you arent really sure you will need until you get there, bit of a balancing act and a lot of guess work
(but thats just my opinion)

I try to travel light, and with carry-ons only if possible. Find ways to wash your clothes and you are set!

A week before departure begun to make a list what I need and what not. I have enough time to buy what I need. A day before the trip just put everything on the list in the suitcase

Who takes a suit case ?
I have got a hotel holiday off to pefection now
No towels needed, clothes to a minimum, (wash it while there) no washing/shaving kit (hotel will provide it or buy it there)
Should be able to get it all in a 'carry on' then you can get out a lot quicker

I wear a lot of things. Starting from the hair straightener and ending with eyeliner. Always hoarding all things

My packing system is usually leave it till the morning I'm going

I find packing a chore so I grab what I think I'll need and go

For this six month trip I have 10kgs of luggage and I could easily take less than that I've discovered.
I put mine in the hold though, just get rid of it as soon as possible and forget about it till the other end.

Well after reading a couple of tips out here I can admit that this helped me a lot so I found packing process easier this time.
I also noticed that what made me fed up with packing is the fact that most of the times I have to pack almost twice because every time we have a trip, we make a stop in Athens.
Luckily my bag this time for tomorrow's trip is just 8 kgs ....even though I have to pack again tonight from Athens......but it is ok this time. Besides it is summer now and we are all travelling light.
Let's hear some more tips from other members.....
