A really close friend of mine belongs to a group that was nominated for a Juno Award for Best World Music Album of the Year! Pretty exciting actually! He's been playing in bands and playing gig after gig for years so it's great to finally see him get some recognition. The group, called Eccodek, is also playing at the Juno Awards show!

Check it out; Best World Music Album of the Year. The Junos are a Canadian version of the US Grammy Awards. Eccodek has a similar sound to the group Thievery Corporation but have many other influences. Not the biggest fan of the sample on the site.....

Anyway, just a slice of info for world music lovers. I wouldn't say they're the best thing happening but they're pretty good. Fun times! I'm so excited for him/them! Check out the other nominees too......

Me too! Their music is pretty good, definitely an interesting sound The other nominees are really good too. I now have a few more bands/groups to listen to now
