Just recently found this site which seemed to be worthy of mentioning in this thread. I am wondering if anyone had heard about these before or been in the neighboring areas of maybe even seen some?

Check them out at: 7 Underwater Wonders

Wow, that's incredible, thanks!
Too bad, I'm the worst diver ever...

Woah, these are cool! Know how far down they are?

Yeah, I would sure love to see one of those locations in real life! I don't think most of them are extremely deep underwater since you can see divers in some of the pictures.

Sweet shots! When I was over in NZ one of the guides on a tour I did told me that they actually have the worlds largest canyon in NZ, bigger than America's Grand Canyon..

I never checked it out since I've been back but apparently it's also underwater and was only discovered in the last year or two...

Yes, it seems there are a number of deep canyons/trenches off the NZ coast which appear to be related or extensions of the very evident Tonga Trench to the north. If you have the downloaded the very latest version of GoogleEarth, which provides awesome views of the ocean floor, you can really see these relationships quite well.

It always amazes me how we are spending so much time and energy trying to understand our universe when we still have so little idea what is happening below our ocean waters.

Nice pics!!

How can you be terrible at diving? All you need to do is breath, and enjoy.

Well, unless you are freaking out at 120 feet... not recommended!
