Wow this list is awesome... I have a really good friend of mine who is Dutch, but I STILL did not know some of these things.

Did you know....

1. Holland and the Netherlands are not synonymous.
2. The Dutch love sprinkles on toast.
3. The Dutch will only eat one hot meal a day.

2. The Dutch love sprinkles on toast.

This maybe a stupid question but what are sprinkles? As I understand it it's something you may add to a cupcake or maybe ice cream, I can't really see what we define as sprinkles in uk to go anywhere near toast!

1. Holland is not the Netherlands, but its a region in the Netherlands (so its a less big territorium than the whole of Netherlands). But a lot of people says 'Holland' when meaning 'The Netherlands', even the Dutch do it sometimes, for exemple when they refer to their national soccerteam they speak about '(Hup) Holland (Hup)'

Marian said earlier why they are not synonymous.

the britains

1. they eat MORE than one hot meal a day tongue.gif....i mean: saucisages at morning ohmy.gif:o???

3. they are always queueing up for busses and in stations and things like that....i think they will be so shocked when they are in the rest of west-europe, cause here the rule is : 'everyone for himself. jump and knock the others to be the first in the bus' tongue.gif

1 - Of course! Nothing like a full english on a Sunday morning!

3 - That does not apply in London, or in the rush hour in most places!
