It's just so hard to bring it down to 5 finalists.....We must have changed our minds on the last 5 at least 10 times in the final hour, when we were deciding which ones would be put up for voting, but I think we are giving you some outstanding choices.....but still you should see the others.......as a matter of fact you can.....just look at all the featured photos off the main page, and you will have many breathtaking photos to enjoy!

But HEY!!! Vote NOW for this month's WINNER ! ! !

Are these photos copyright, or public domain? It is quite amazing the superb quality, yet you tell us there were so many others. I feel hypocritical critiquing these photos as I probably could not come anywhere near their quality.

1. Beautiful photo, but to be honest, a relatively simple task for such a spectacular view.
2. The composition is stunning. Impressive clouds, lovely reflections, Beautiful light on the stonework, the two glasses at the edge of the pool, total clarity.
3. This must have been a time exposure extremely well done. Just the right exposure for a magnificent effect.
4. A gorgeously colourful photo, Lovely composition, but a relatively easy task.
5. A very interesting and unusual view. Beautifully taken, but I find it somewhat lifeless. Needs a camel.

My choice No. 2

Hi all...this is my first post...thanks to those who voted for my pic last month! It is an honour...

For me, it was a toss up between #2 and #3. I agree with the above poster about the fountain...difficult to get the right exposure - I really like the silhouette of the trees in the background against the sky. For the pool pic, nice composition - I like the reflection of the clouds in the pool and also the champagne flutes and the gnarly tree. I will vote for one of these, but in the tradition of anonymity, I will not tell which one! smile.gif

And for the record, Moraine Lake is in the Alberta Rockies...

ahhhh they are all sooo good this time round!!!!!
i like
#1 Moraine Lake - Vancouver, Canada,
#2 Infinity pool - Santorini, Greece,
#3 Water Fountain Park 7 - Hamburg, Germany &
#5 deserto do Sahara - Marrakech, Morocco. although i do like number 4 but it has the least appeal for me.
ok ill eliminate the infinity pool picture from my potential vote as ive seen too many pics similiar to this but it is a good photo
i wont vote for the water fountain one (despite it being first to catch my eye) so its between #1 and #5 for me........................ ill vote for #5 biggrin.gif

Nice summary Martin - especially the comments on 5.

On first glance I was taken with number 2, but now I'm finding it a bit cluttered. I'm gonna go for 1 as thats the one that grabs my attention and really holds it.

I'm not keen on 1 and 5 because I think the trees and bushes in the foreground actually detract from these pictures instead of adding to them.

2 and 4 I quite like, but I'm going for 3 because out of all of them, this would have been the most difficult to capture - and it has been captured extremely well. I like the colours and effect too.

Cool vagabonderz, nice to see you back in the forums! Make sure you read the newsletter which is going out today. It will have your photo in it.

I'm going with the infinity pool, I love the simplicity, and yeah, I've seen it a bunch of times but it never gets old.

Thanks starlagurl - I must admit I've been a bit slack since we've (temporarily) stopped traveling! But I'll try harder smile.gif

Another great selection. Gotta go with #1 this time as it starts my heart racing, though the white balance is a bit... a very difficult pic to get right, and definitely think it's come out good. Love #2 too. Good stuff..

hello, people that make voting so difficult:

4.) doorway with flowers, has the very same vegetation we have in Cuernavaca...even to the window bars: only here they paint them black. The doors are wooden & medieval in México: not so elaborate in design, nor so vividly painted !!! EXCELLENT

2.) infinity pool, very well composed!!!...but a little "rich tourist" for my taste...EXCELLENT

5.) deserto do Sahara, something missing, composition too flat: no focus of interest...for my taste GOOD

3.) water fountain park 7: all thats missing in 5.), is present here !!! very kinetic composition, excellent cameramen experience with the eye of a born genius: manages light beter than the other 4 contestants...but I run away from big cities & cement most of my life...the theme is not my taste at all. EXCELLENT !!!

1.) Moraine Lake, Nr ONE is Nr ONE for me. (and I hate feeling cold, suposedly: but with good Nautica equipment...) The sheer magesty of Canadian Rockies is present. Can almost hear Grizly bears & wolves ecoing from those clifs, over that water amplitude...Canada is really beautifull !!! So, to be unfair with the other 4 contestants: number ONE is my choice, because I am in love with Mountains...SUBLIME (for my poor taste)
