QUOTE(mmbcross @ Aug 19 2008, 07:00 AM) Hah! That's me. I have worked in Peru, Brazil and Guatemala and now live in Miami. You are right about the move. Each time you change countries you have to sell everything you have and buy a new lot of stuff, which is generally cheaper than transporting it in a container. Some lucky ones get their relocation paid for (Inasia!). You can't collect many heirlooms this way!
Actually I have not had that luxury yet, I paid for my own relocation to Bahrain, cost me GBP900 in shipping and then when I came here a friend of mine in the military did send me some boxes by Space Available Mail (military postal service) which worked out much cheaper, but still had to pay!!!

QUOTE(inasia2008 @ Aug 18 2008, 05:56 PM) You are too funny, now you want to BUY a place in Paris and to think you were so worried before you went there.... so did you get to feel like a proper little local?
Oh, no, honey, I've been wanting to buy a place in Paris for a couple years now! We've had a savings set up since then for that very purpose. I don't know how long it will take...but we do plan on doing it. Yeah, I did feel fairly localish. We got to "know" some of the people that worked at the places along our street: the crepe guy, the Turkish food guys, the epicerie guy etc. We'd walk by and say, "Bonjour." They were all so nice. We became friends with the owner of the apartment too. It was great. I could totally see myself living there, at least part time anyway!

Lol... why do you need to get married, just do it! I went to see it being filmed, it was hilarious - you just have to act a bit wacky in auditions and they;ll put you on no probs. Because you have to be American or at least related or married to one before you can take part as you will have to pay Capital Gains Tax etc. LOL! I think here you have to send in videos of yourself to get on!

QUOTE(sianeth @ Aug 20 2008, 05:38 AM) QUOTE(starlagurl @ Aug 19 2008, 04:40 PM) Where was it being filmed? In the UK?
Jah, they film the UK one in Bristol. Its hosted by Noel Edmonds who is a bit of a legend around these parts... we went mainly to see him - they did give out free drinks at the start though, and the ticket was free, so it was win-win! Noel Edmonds! OMG.... that's awful! He must be about 80 by now, I cant imagine him being as good as Howie Mandel! Even with his OCD!!!!! LMAO!

Yeah that would be great television especially with Mike being military! They may even "fix" it that we could win the million or at least 750,000! Seeing as I just had to call the plumbers in as baby Alex stuck a whole roll of toilet roll down the toilet and blocked it up and then Mike losing his wallet and our dog eating her leash and some socks and costing us 500 bucks in vet bills! Always happens all at the same time!
