Beach rompers face jail & marriage
A BRITISH couple arrested in Dubai for having sex on a beach will face the harshest sentence after DNA tests reportedly proved they had 'full sex'.
Michelle Palmer, 30, and Vince Acors, 34, will stand trial on August 21 and could face up to six years behind bars after Dubai police charged the two British tourists with having sex in public, illicit sex and being drunk in public.
Both denied the claim, however, reports in The Sun newspaper claim that DNA tests have confirmed they had full sex, and that Mr Acors has admitted it.
It has also been reported that the couple have since gone through a hasty civil marriage ceremony to reduce the sentence.
The Britons were arrested last month after witnesses spotted them having sex on a sun lounger, despite the strict ban on sex outside marriage in the Muslim emirate.
They had met hours earlier at a champagne brunch at Le Meridien Hotel, where Ms Palmer allegedly got extremely drunk before setting off for a walk along the shore with her newfound companion.
A police officer allegedly later spotted the pair having sex on the sand and let them off with a caution.
But the pair reportedly ignored the warning and they were arrested when the officer returned.
According to police sources, Ms Palmer launched an angry tirade at the officer upon being disturbed for a second time. She is alleged to have hurled abuse and tried to hit him with her before being restrained and taken to a cell.
Dubai has since issued a crack down on topless sunbathing, nudity and other forms of indecent behaviour.
The strict Muslim city-state which attracts thousands of Western partygoers, has appointed undercover police to patrol beaches and man watchtowers as part of a new campaign against indecency.

When will these people get it into their 1 defective brain cells ,that whether you go to a country to work or just for a holiday, you are bound by the local laws, even if you dont agree with them. It makes life very difficult for other travellers who get tarred with the same brush. Travelling in Europe after an England game can be unpleasant, especially if you have to deal with German border guards,as I did during Europe 1998.If you cant behave like a normal human being,do us all a favour and stay at home.!

Come on everyone the absolute rule of travel or living abroad is “Their Country Their Laws”. To think for 1 minute that you will be treated differently because you are a foreigner is just plain stupid. I really don’t have any sympathy for her. She is paying the price for her arrogance.
I am always astounded when I see people smoking pot or under the effects of some other drug in foreign countries. I have seen it in South America, Panama and China. I bring this up because the woman was drunk. Drinking is illegal in almost every Muslim country; (Although they often turn a blind eye to it.).
To be warned and not take heed shows total disrespect to the country, their beliefs and their laws. She should get what she gets and stop whining. As for the guy if he is a citizen of Dubai it isn’t likely that he got anything more than a fine, if even that, but it is irrelevant.
Never expect anything to be different than it would be at any other time. If she was a citizen the sentence would probably be much harsher.
