Hi,

I was thinking of Crete for my summer vacation. I would really like to explore the island as much as possible. Do you have any suggestions on which places I should visit?Do you think I should rent a car?As far as I know Crete is a rather large island.

Hi egli, welcome to the forum, I'm new here as well. I've been to Crete and it's lovely. Which parts you explore depends on what you like doing. I started in Heraklion and it was very nice; a lovely harbour and a lot of nice restaurants. I moved onto to Malia, which is great if you like to go out at night as there's so many restaurants, bars and clubs for you to go to. There's also a lot of nice beaches too. If you go, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
