Is this safe? I am considering a West African Adventure which begins in Cameroon. Does anybody now if it is safe in Douala for a female on their lonesome. Any recommendations for this city?

Hi rani, I just did a little search on Wiki travel:
http://wikitravel.org/en/Cameroon#Stay_safe

And it looks like it should be fine as long as you don't wear a lot of jewelry or have sex with strangers.

Here's another from the Lonely Planet, they give it a mid-level warning:

http://www.lonelyplanet.com/worldguide/cameroon/

Let me know if this helps!

its safe if you will be cautious in talking and trusting to people. if you go to places or jump to other country we will be frightened coz we dont know about the nature of the prople living there. Having a research before going into a country would be a great move thats why I am Using LMT or Last Minute Travel its gives me brief details about the country I want to visit and also I book my flight their cause they offer good packages and low rates....

Just be safe raniroo.... dont easily trust to some one but be sure enjoy evrything and anyone you meet.... have a great trip do let us know your story after your trip!!!! smile.gif

Set a plan for your trip, not because you're alone it doesn't mean the place you are traveling to isn't enjoyable or fun.. Just have fun with yourself and meet new people around.
