QUOTE(starlagurl @ Jun 2 2008, 09:35 AM) Wow, that is quite the story, donyan. Glad you finally made it here to TravelPod!
Welcome to the forums nas.latif! I recently got my motorcycle licence too, where are you planning on going with yours?
I am still grappling with computer technology. Thanks for your welcome. As for the bike when I was in NZ I decided that the next time I was there I would do it by bike. Then I saw the Motorcycle Diaries and thought............. S America. Then reflected, and thought 'No' if I wanted to get to NZ! I have a Honda but need to change it for a tourer, not Harley. Nas

QUOTE(donyan @ Jun 2 2008, 06:03 PM) QUOTE(nas.latif @ Jun 2 2008, 05:42 AM) ...In August I hope to start a travel from USA, Mexico Central and South America... ...I came upon this site quite by mistake and I am seeking advice from anyone on interesting things to do in the countries I shall be visiting... Welcome to Mexico, nas.latif: acording to me, some interesting things to do here: first, my location is Cuernavaca, 1 hr drive south of Mexico city, close to the Volcanos pass were Cortés conquered the Great Tenochtitlan (Mexico city Aztec name), closer to Tepoztlán and at an hour distance of two Skydive jump zones. All this is in the state of Morelos. Some images to wet your apetite: (I have visitor room & camping space) Tepoztlán is also a flying area for paragliders, mail to: franz_mx@hotmail.com the local contact for excelent equipment & safe training. I am a rookie skydiver only, not a paraglider YET... The two Skydive zones on my area: Tequesquitengo skydive (link not working, try later)Cuautla skydiveI am in direct contact with my friends in Puerto Escondido, on the Oaxaca state Emerald coast. The mexican pipeline is the fastest in the world (acording to surfing legends) and is close to mangroove lagoons like Chacagua, mainly of afromexican culture (the third root of Mexicos etnicity) an incredible sanctuary for all tipes birds, from tiny Humming birds to big pelikans, egrets, cormorans...etc. but acomodations would be more like camping, and hotels are basic. Lots of mosquitoes at dawn!!! The scenery is superb, the people extremely friendly (fishermen culture: the greatest fishing storys, some might even be true). In Puerto Escondido, lots of travelers and inmigrants from all over the world. Hotels on the beach, or campings, no luxury but friendly atmosphere and great night life. Click the next pics for links: JoséLuis Mendiola link: My excelent friend Rebeca having breakfast with a guest, at the restaurant "la Galera", Arcoiris hotel Cecile Crowe link: the mexpipe...Arcoiris is on that beach, left of surfer my blog: my good friend Ángela, selling hammocks at Arcoiris entrance from the beach. Click this image, and you are transfered to my blog the Maule, go way down that page until you reach Robert Crowe was a surfer (he created the hotel with JoséLuis, his compadre!) You can read all my blog if you preffer, but it's mostly aviator stuff. NOTE- the Cuautla Skydive team lives in the Arcoiris now: Skydive in Puerto! Rebeca (photo of breakfast above), when coming back from Mexico city goes to Cuautla, takes the skydive team twin Otter, jumps over Puerto and lands on Zicatela beach. Then after picking the chute canopy, se crosses the street and enters the Arcoiris hotel! ¿How many women do you know geting home that way??? If you are thirsty for more indications, just bug me any time, here or through Email: I love to be buged! donYanDonyan Many thanks for the information and for your offer to bug you if I need any more info on Mexico. [size=6]Hello From Nebraska, USA!
I am new to this site, but not new to travel. I love to travel the continental US, and in particular, Nebraska and South Dakota. I have traveled just about every route from Omaha, to Rapid City South Dakota, and beyond. My interests include writing, traveling, Discovering anything new to me, crochet, Native American Culture and History (particularly the Lakota Sioux)
I have 3 living children (aren't they lucky?) ages 28, 21 and 14. I now have both a Grand daughter, 18 months, and a new little Grand son just born on Mothers Day 2008. I have a Chihuahua who thinks he is a cat and is very possessive of me.
I have lived in Nebraska, Iowa, Alabama and California. I always end up back here in Nebraska. I hope to one day visit England, Scotland, Portugal (my Father's family from the Azores), Japan and Germany (My Mother's side)
I have had many visitors from Europe come here to have my "grand tour" of Nebraska and South Dakota. It is wonderful meeting people.
I am very active collecting donated goods for the people of Pine Ridge Reservation which, of course, I deliver myself as often as possible!!
Glad to be here and hope to be very active on the site!
Veronica (Netravel)
