My partner overstayed the 6 months visitor entry clearance to the UK by 7 weeks, I believe they give 4 weeks grace which means she has still overstayed 3 weeks. Does anyone know how long she has to wait before she can re-enter the UK on another 6 month entry clearance.
Do they even know when someone leaves the UK. We went back to Australia through Manchester Airport and there didn't seam to be any immigration station that recorded we were leaving, unless they get the info from the airlines.
Appreciate any advice as I have to work for a few more months in the UK. I have a work visa myself.

Depends, can be anything from a fine to a "Don't come back". They scan the barcodes in your passports as you enter and leave the country. I suppose they have visa info and dates on them?

Cheers Darren....have given up trying to return to UK due to chances of being refused entry and sent back.
