Hello!
So I am spending 2 weeks in Greece near the end of June and am looking for some advice. I plan to spend week 1 wandering around on my own and week 2 with my family in Rhodes.
For the first week I have some accommodation booked and ideas in mind but would like some guidance. The plan: overnight in Athens on June 14 - this is basically a stop over en route to the islands, however does anyone have any advice for the evening? My flight arrives at 4.40pm and I fly out the next morning at 9.20am. I have booked into a backpackers close to the Acropolis.
Next stop is Mykonos for June 15 and till about lunch on June 16. My travel agent has booked me into accommodation apparently 400m from town and 300m from beach. I was really just planning to wander around and absorb as much as I can, but does anyone have any other ideas?
Next stop (and the last for week one) is Santorini for late arvo/early evening June 16 till around lunch June 19. I have not booked any accommodation here as I can't decide where to stay. I have been looking at what seem to be the 2 main backpackers - Youth Hostel Anna and Oia Youth Hostel. Its the areas that are mainly interesting me. Since I have such limited time does anyone have any advice? Including any must dos? (I was looking at a day trip to the volcano?).
For the second week I will be entirely based in Rhodes with my family and another family. We have hired a villa which should be great. however I was wondering if there are any must do's or any great short trips to surrounding islands or areas?
Thank-you in advance for all your help! In your responses please keep in mind that even though I am a female in my 20s - I am not driven by partying or drinking or any of those things. I am interested in seeing a place for what it really is - the people, their history, culture, land etc.
Thanks!!!!
Cassie.

P.S. when is the best time to pre-book ferries? Or should I just leave it till I arrive? Thanks!
