hi all

we will be speding approx 3 days in mumbai after a tour of kerala and goa.

we have been in contact with a charity to see some work they do in mumbai but they have asked where in mumbai we will be staying, we were hoping to just arrive in mumbai and see what happens but looks like we need to decide and let them know so they can organise our visit.

what area in mumbai is best to stay in? we hope for a cheap hotel, but want to be close enough to sight see also!!

thanks for your help

Try to find a place in suburbs..which is actually the center of Mumbai. Try to find a good location in Bandra, Khar and Dadar.

You can use makemytrip.com and it will suggest you some good hotels in mumbai.

I like Worli, a quick drive (by bus) to S. Mumbai and about 1 hour to the suburbs. Find out where the NGO's place is. You don't want to spend all your time trying to find and get to the place. Worli doesn't have a lot of tourist, and you are close to seaface.

I just returned from a trip to Mumbai India and I stayed at a 3 star hotel called Hotel Archana Residency in Mulund, suburb on Mumbai. It was wonderful! Prices were so inexpensive, including room service. Highly recommended.
